I am Peruvian and one or two things:
Just do not bring anything striking if we do not want to fly, not in Dissing my own country, but it happens to the best of us, right?
If You're Going everywhere, the temperature is usually very hot (if you're from the north, ie, NY, NE, etc.), unless you go up the mountain, you can be a bit cold, not as cold as winter, despite

Fun, a nice place, I miss them ... lol

Peru is a very poor country, it is dangerous (and disgusting) to expensive jewelry, designer clothes, etc. My friend found an expensive leather jacket that was stolen from our hotel room soon appear. No need for clothing in Peru because it is a very casual. In Lima and Cuzco, you may want to wear a skirt or dress in a restaurant, but nothing like a cocktail dress is required. If one to Machu Picchu cotton khaki trousers, shirts and fleece in the morning, depending on the season. Keep in mind that the seasons of the United States against each other. I went in September it would happen in the spring. The morning is cool and very hot at noon and I will strip on a T-shirt and jeans. After 3 hours, the initial temperature is falling like a stone and 4 hours I have my hair. There are many restrictions on clothing in Peru, but when too many clothes to be in his place. If you take a ride on a raft Ollytambo (I recommend), River Wear khaki pants (waterproof) and a sweater, rain poncho. I was very dry in this art. If you hTo take Iking, sturdy shoes, but avoid heavy boots, you lose speed. I Sketchers disorders. Tennis shoes are good, but there are many rocks and the terrain is hilly. Make sure you support, shoes with ankle. Take a small backpack for hiking, you will need. You want a free hand for photos, etc. Keep spare batteries and plenty of film for your camera, because it has no place to buy these things, are in ruins. There is literally nothing to Machu Picchu - no vendors, no hawkers, no concession stands after passing the entrance. Take water and sunscreen - which is at 12,000 feet! As the sun with a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses are necessary. Bottom line - jeans and a T-shirt with a fleece for most of the trip.
